Iris Babao Uy

We went to Zoobic a few weeks ago and we rode a Safari Train there which took us around the park. My daughter loved it so much that she kept on talking about our adventure. She also drew this picture. She is only turning five this December but she clearly shows a talent in drawing... or is it just me being a proud mommy? :)

Anyway, I created this layout of her proudly showing off her drawing. Used the Report Card line from October Afternoon.

 

This one was created using the Farm Fresh line of October Afternoon. I can't get over how beautiful this picture turned out. It was a candid shot but you can really see how my daughter and her dad adore each other so much. Big thanks again to Core'dinations Cardstock for sending the OA DT a ton of beautiful cardstock. The one I used here was from the whitewash collection. It has a white coat, but when sanded, shows the beautiful color underneath.

She recently sent me some pictures of her two beautiful daughters Amy and Chloe and it was such a delight to create this page for her.

I just saw now that this is the featured layout over at twopeas! Wow I am so happy! Hope that brings an added smile to my friend Sophia :)

It's all set! I'm going to teach for one weekend at the Shabby Chic Store in Brunei on November 21 and 22. I'm excited to meet Beverly who is the owner of Shabby Chic and all the lovely scrappers there.

What’s the best gift you ever gave?

The best gift I ever gave was something I did for myself. I used pay so much attention to my family that I often neglect myself. I have given up on so many dreams and have let go of so many opportunities in the past in favor of my family. I realized that I won’t love my family any less if I start loving myself too. I have then decided to allow myself to dare to dream. I may not have as much chances of succeeding as compared to my youth, but at least I won’t go forever asking myself … “what if?”

Pencil Lines On-line Crop - Updated with winner of RAK - How Did I (03)

Hi! Pencil Lines is having an on-line crop today to celebrate their third year! I am very honored to be

invited to take part in the celebrations. For my layout, I used the sketch designed by the fabulous

Celine Navarro when she was a guest designer at Pencil Lines. Here is my take on her funky

sketch...

 

 

 

 

1. Cut strips of patterned paper to resemble the rays of the sun. Adhere the bottom part only and once everything is in place, start tearing the top part to get a nice curve.

 

 

2.   Frame your smaller photos within chipboard frames. To make the frames pop, layer 2  strips of fabric or lace under the frame.

 

3. Use tags for journaling or rub-ons.

 

4. If your frames don’t fit a certain picture, try selecting two similar frames, cutting off certain portions, and attaching them together like I did here.

 

5. Use left-over from the frames you cut to accent a scallop or border.

 

 

6. Layer several ribbons and lace, together with stickers and chipboard shapes for an interesting corner.

I love looking at my two daughters. Here are a few pics of Nicole with her baby sister Cheska. It was only at this time when Nicole started to appreciate the concept of "big sister".

Pencil Lines Turns 3!

Just in case you didnt know, Pencil Lines turns 3 this month. To celebrate, Pencil Lines will be holding a weekend online crop for FREE!!

It all kicks off Friday night with a "pass the parcel" blog hop. Game rules will be posted here on Friday, 16th at 8pm GMT.

Midday Saturday  is the start of the online crop with some past guest designers; from new sketches, to archive sketches and step by steps. There is something for everyone! Whether you are a digi scrapper, conventional paper scrapper, love mini books or even cards, there is something for you all!

There will be prizes up for grabs too from My Little Shoebox, Pink Paislee, May Arts, 3ndypapir and My Minds Eye to name a few!

I will be doing a remake of a past sketch with a short step-by-step instructions and will be offering a rak too. I hope to see you on the hop!

Gratitude...

Ever since I posted the "Class For Cause" in my blog, I am blessed every time I open my email in the morning. I continuously receive sign-ups and encouragement from people all over the world. Just this morning, I received an email from ANKE KELDERMAN who is based in Spain. She owns an on-line store  ... 1 World Scrap. She told me that she can translate the class and post it in their site and send all the proceeds to me so I can put it in the fund for the Typhoon victims here in our Country. I am overwhelmed at the generosity and kindness of people who I have not even met. I am so thankful for this wonderful community. I would like to invite you to drop by their site. Class For A Cause UPDATES, and DT work

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has signed up, blogged about, and spread the news for the class for a cause. Huge thanks also to Prima who has advertised the class in their blog and for Sharon Laakkonnen for donating a beautiful prize package to be given away during the class course when it goes live on November 6. Through your help, we were able to donate $200 to Philippine National Red Cross. I continue to receive sign-ups daily so I expect that we can give another donation in two weeks.

In the meantime, here are two layouts I made for Visual Creations featuring My Mind's Eye Ooh La La papers, and Hampton Arts Clear Stamps.
