Just Paint...

Hi everyone! I'm here again to share with you another layout from the September Kit of Studio Calico. One "go to" item for me whenever I work on a project is chipboard - whether it be raw or embellished. One of the things people always ask me about my raw chipboards is how I make it appear textured even with just paint.

It's very simple actually. Instead of using a paint brush, use a foam applicator. Instead of spreading the paint, apply it with a "Press and lift" motion. You press down the foam to transfer the paint, then lift the foam up to create texture with the paint. Lastly, before it dries, spritz on some glimmer mist. The water from the mist creates small round holes in the paint and then adds shimmer. I love that effect.

A Little Bit of Fancy....

Hi there! Just a quick post here to share with you a couple of layouts I made for Fancy Pants...

Collection: "Off To School"

This layout is so different from the kind of pages I usually make. This was my take on a secret chain sketch we played here in Manila with a group of fun and wacky ladies. It was a blast. I had to lift a very graphic and linear layout and with the time pressure in mind (cause we were racing against a 2nd group of ladies ... yup they won! hmph haha), it was so tough to pull off! But it was fun. You guys should try that too. The sketch starts with one person and the layout is passed from one scrapper to another. So you see how the layout evolves in the end.

Analogous Color Challenge at Aussie Scrap Source...

We have another fun challenge at Aussie Scrap Source! This time, it's to create a layout based on Analogous Colors...

 

 

 

When I started on this assignment, I had no idea what "analogous" colors meant. Put simply, these are colors that sit beside each other on the color wheel. What I did was choose the colors Blue to green. Istarted with light blue colors going to dark blue colors and then added on some greens.

Scraptastic Event - Belgium October 2012

I still could not beleive it until I saw this up tonight... wow... pinch pinch!! What an amazing opportunity! I'm excited but also scared to death to be teaching in the same event as these ladies! Oh and yes the first thing I will probably do is go up to Donna Downey and Teresa Collins for a signature and a picture!!
