As a designer for manufacturers and stores, I would often have to adapt my style to match the products I am working with. I would have simple pages, pages with lots of flowers, pages with no flowers, embellished ones, not so embellished ones, shabby, bright and bold etc. But when I look at my work... this is still the kind of page that becomes a favorite of mine...
"The Fairies Brought You Here"
Laser cut chipboard by Dusty Attic
Vintage Glass Glitter and paint...
hand-cut whimsical patterns...
vintage themed metal charms, ribbons, and lace...
thickened gesso, glitter, paint, and mists...
I think it's great to experiment with different styles every now and then but I also believe that as an artist (and we all are), we can be confident in staying true to our style. No need to keep on thinking of a new twist every time you make a page. It's all about just letting your creativity and style show through your work.
Here's to a creative week for all of us...
To those attending the weekend workshop in Indonesia this coming weekend... I'll see you soon! Oh and yes, this is a bit of a look into the kind of stuff we will be doing:)
