Lily Bee and Tim Holtz Dies

It's always an adventure for me whenever I design a page for Lily Bee. I am an embellishment and hand cutting patterned paper Junkie... but I am addicted to Lily Bee.. why? Because it is a perfect match for my dies!! The patterns are just the right size for you to see it even in intricately cut shapes such as the clock here. And the colors blend in so beautifully that all you need are scraps of Lily Bee papers and a few of your favorite dies or paper shapers to create detailed and embellishment filled Lily Bee pages.







All papers are from Lily Bee "This and That" and "Picket Fence" collection. Tim Holtz dies used here totals to SIX dies! Clock, flower, film strip, houses, butterflies, man with umbrella. Thanks to Yellow Violet House for my new dies!

Let's Celebrate "New Bling"!

Hi! It's the final day of the celebrations of Webster's Pages' latest collection "Let's Celebrate" and I'm very excited to show you a brand new set of embellishments for Webster's Pages - the bling!!! And check out the butterfly and the pins... just gorgeous!!

There are also some very nice backside patterns and plain areas in the papers which you can use for your favorite die cutting plates. I used the new Tim Holtz Weathered clock here. Thanks to Yellow Violet House for the beautiful die!

Let's Celebrate!!!

You are cordially invited to CELEBRATE with us! We are hosting a party for a very special guest of honor...our new “Let’s Celebrate” Collection and we want YOU to come share in the fun.  Bright, bold colors combined with lush florals and sweet as sugar images (cupcakes anyone?) make this line the princess of any party and she has quite the guest list of friends that are going to accompany her...who’s ready for new embellishments???

So we are pulling out all the stops. Starting Monday, June 20^th through Friday, June 24^th we will have a week- long Celebration with Games, Prizes, Sneak Peeks, New Products and Inspiration Galore. The fun starts off with the first sneak of our new line bright and early Monday morning (the design team has been hard at work creating AMAZING projects for EVERY type of crafter) then we have a game that we are tickled pink to play with you all...we will end our fun filled day with a live chat Monday evening at 6pm PST/9pm EST! Here we will discuss our new line and hand out the first of the prizes from our game and much, much more. You can refer to this TIME CONVERTER to see what time the chat will be in your area. Then we get to start the fun all over again each day, every day, all week long. 

You will be able to find all things Party Related in our Let’s Celebrate forum at inspireME in this link HERE. So make sure to check it often as we update and you can ask any questions there as well.  What’s the first thing you are going to do Monday morning?? No, not have breakfast...You are going to come start at inspireME and have some fun. Can’t think of a better way to start out the week, can you?

Studio Calico June Kit "Paper Moon"

Scrappin Studio just sent me the June kit "Paper Moon" and when I opened the kit I wished I had a little boy! The papers were mainly boy themed I think with papers but I knew that with Studio Calico kits, you can always make it work.

So here are two pages and one big mini-album (big cause it has 18 pages!) made from the main kit and a few papers and embellishments from the "Space Cowboy" add-on kit. You can check all the kits here at Scrappin Studio.

 Plus, here is one more layout this time with a couple of papers from The Girl's Paperie which can be found in the add-on kit "Star Dust". This layout is for the sketch challenge provided by my co-dt member Amelia Khalik. I will post the challenge soon.

Win a Whimsical Prize Pack!

Aussie Scrapsource has a fun challenge going on. We are doing "Style Lounge" - featuring the style of each of the DT members.

This is what Aussie Scrapsource wrote about my style..."Like many of our design team, Iris has a style that’s so unique we had trouble finding an already existing label for it.  But when you get down to it, it’s a whimsical style and she always includes lots of detail, so ‘Detailed Whimsy’ it is!"

If there is one thing you will notice about Iris' style - it is that it will always involve some fussy cutting, misting, and stamping. According to Iris, she just has to get it a little bit spritzed and smeared with colour to make it work for her. In this page, Iris made a scenic and whimsical page about her daughter's first Easter Egg Hunt.

 

The same detailed whimsical style can be seen here but in a more shabby vintage look...another one of Iris' favourite looks.  You can see some stamping, inking, embossing, and even an application of mediums like bead gels... 

 

 

 

Iris’ detailed whimsy style translated into a mini-album.  With two daughters Iris obviously gravitates towards feminine, pretty pages, soft colours and beautiful imagery.

Before I go...

I'm going on a short vacation tomorrow with the kids and my husband and before I go, I'd like to share with you one of the layouts I taught at the Creative Workshops in Indonesia. I had four busy, crazy, fun days teaching in Surabaya and Jakarta. The ladies there were so talented and so nice. I'll post pics from the classes soon.
