Happy new year everyone! A brand new year... a brand new set of goals... and a brand new opportunity to live a better life, to pursue one's dreams, to maybe let go of some and set new ones.
This year I hope to be able to go back to the very reason why I have kept myself in this industry - and that is because I enjoyed the process. But as I have gone through the demands of creating for shows, publications, design teams, I realized that I have been creating more for the need to "get the job done" rather than to satisfy the need to create and to record memories. I have always been in-love with mixed media and make it a point to include techniques in my classes. I hope I can do more of that too in my daily pages and projects.
I am still part of manufacturer teams that I admire and respect but this time I took one step further and will be creating with a couple of mixed media companies also - laser chipboard pieces and embossing powders. I think that will be a pretty fun mix right?
So to start off the new year of creating for me, my very first layout for 2012 was created with the brand new collection from BasicGrey - "Kissing Booth"! When I first saw the preview of this line, I have been continually asking when we will be able to get our hands on it. Let me show you why...
BasicGrey comes up with some of the most vibrant vintage patterns and colors and then complements it with stunning embellishments like these chipboard pieces...
die-cut sticker shapes...
dimensional stickers and letter stickers in varied sizes...
then... to make it more my own, I added this lamp post chipboard piece from Dusty Attic, texturized with gesso, paint and WOW embossing powder in "Sierra Sunset".
another chipboard from Dusty Attic this time with the WOW Bubblegum powder layered with Sierra Sunset powder.
on this part I used Ranger paint with WOW Gummybear Green powder.
The new WOW embossing powders by Suzy West will be launched soon at CHA. There are so many colors to die for! If you want to take a peek - check it out HERE.
Thanks for your visit everyone! Happy new year once again!
Beautiful layouts! The Blossom line is a special favorite. So swoon-worthy!
