Webster's Pages "Trends" and coming workshops...

We recently created a series of projects for Webster's Pages focusing on "trends"... and my top choice of current trends was "chevrons"! I just love this look. Here is the project I made with textured chevrons.

I mixed glass bead gels with texture paste and smeared it over a chevron mask to create the background. The excess mixture was used to texturixe the edges of the layout.

Webster's Pages Blog Hop

Welcome to the Webster's Pages blog hop! The design team is each featuring either the "Once Upon A Halloween" collection or the "Park Drive" collection. For my part of the hop, I am sharing with you the classic beauty of the patterned papers and trims from the "Park Drive" Collection.

We were also asked to share why we scrapbook... why we love this craft so much. I remember wanting to create art even as a little girl, I would sketch (but was never really good at it), I would color (hmmm I was so so I guess), I tried cross stitch (I was horrible at it!), and I did a little of quilling as well... but I never found that one thing that really spoke to me - till I learned about this craft. It's a mixture of photography, art, and writing - all in one. It's memory keeping at its best and it's creative and a form of art as well. This is definitely something I will do as long as my hands are capable of making a pair of scissors do its job! :)

Overlay and Watercolor Stamping Tutorial for Webster's Pages "Once Upon A Halloween"

Hi everyone! It's been a rainy weekend for us here and there have been several towns and cities washed down by the flash floods. It's a terrible sight to see and it breaks my heart to know that I can only do so little in my capacity. But then you see people joining in a huge effort to reach out and help those who have been stranded and needing of rescue. It somehow renews your faith in man and gives you hope. Classes have been suspended for my kids and the house is in chaos! I do have spare time on my hands now (which explains for the lengthier post! yes, more words from me! Can you imagine that??!!)! Anyway, I got a chance to study how to take a video, edit on imac, convert it, and upload to vimeo all in a day! Hmmmm why am I saying this, so that you will be more understanding of my very amateurish attempt at creating a video tutorial. LOL! Oh and please don't mind the background sound if you still hear it. There is a variety show being played at the same time that my three year old is shrieking and stomping around the room while I was doing the video!:) Ok, so here is the layout I created for Webster's Pages using the new "Once Upon A Halloween" line...

BasicGrey's Paper Cottage

"Once Upon A Halloween" Webster's Pages

I have always loved Halloween because it was such a special treat for my kids. Scrapping the photos however were another thing. Given the style that I prefer, it was usually hard to come by Halloween themed products that suited the designs I had in mind. So you can just imagine how thrilled I was when I found out that Webster's was coming up with their very first Halloween Line! I'm sure all Webster's fans will love this new collection - "Once Upon A Halloween"...

I added Ranger Liquid Pearls to add orannge dimensional dots, and I also used it to create the doodled circles on the flower centers.

The owl was painted with a little Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, and I used American Crafts metallic pens to draw the doodled stitches on the black cameo.

The papers are beautiful... the trims are so luxurious...and wait till you see all the embellishments! Take a peek HERE to see the entire collection.
