So here goes... please be kind ok, this is my very first page in my Art Journal! I have always played with mixed media techniques in my scrapbook pages and I love it - but I never really created solely for the purpose of playing with mixed media. I never realized how liberating it was ... to have no rules, to not think about coordinating things with your photos, to not think about design, and just let your paint brushes and art mediums take a life of its own. You never know the end result till the very last stroke of your brush - and it's amazing!
I created this page for Webster's Pages. You will notice a mix of elements for the older paper lines. I worked in some gesso and ripped canvas cloths, embossed, painted, texturized, collaged, stapled, etc...
These hearts were made from corkboard sheets which I hand cut into heart shapes. I then embossed parts with glitter embossing powder, layered with gold mica flakes, colored with pastel pencils, and edged with dimensional paint... fun!!
