I love the color palette of the "All About Me" line by Webster's Pages. The combination of smokey blue, scarlet red, light grey, and apple green is so unexpected yet so beautiful!

Dusty Attic Give-away and Fancy Pants Layouts

Hi everyone! We are having a style challenge at Dusty Attic and it's my turn now to host the challenge. The rules are simple, create a layout with Dusty Attic Chipboards in it and design the page or project with my style in mind. Ahhh ok what is my style.. I'd like to think of it as crisp, detailed with a touch of whimsy. yeah? Well, it's up to you really. Just pick something from one of my layouts that you like and take it from there. Here is an example of a layout I made with a Dusty Attic Frame and the Fancy Pants "It's The Little Things" collection.

This one is a favorite of mine...1. because I love the pictures here. Cheska was desperately trying to copy her Dad's moves but since she was so small it was impossible for her to do so. So cute! 2. because my friend Angela lent me her beautiful Martha Stewart puncher (I gotta have this one!), and 3. because Angela came up with the amazing title for my layout! Thanks Angella! Hi everyone! It's that time of the month again when we feature a guest designer over at Webster's Inspire Me, and this time we have the talented Lean De Ruiter. This is the page I created which was inspired by Lean's style.

I used the new "Let's Celebrate" line from Webster's...and speaking about new lines... wait till you see the four new collections debuting at CHA soon! The best from Webster's EVER!!

Lily Bee and Tim Holtz Dies

It's always an adventure for me whenever I design a page for Lily Bee. I am an embellishment and hand cutting patterned paper Junkie... but I am addicted to Lily Bee.. why? Because it is a perfect match for my dies!! The patterns are just the right size for you to see it even in intricately cut shapes such as the clock here. And the colors blend in so beautifully that all you need are scraps of Lily Bee papers and a few of your favorite dies or paper shapers to create detailed and embellishment filled Lily Bee pages.







All papers are from Lily Bee "This and That" and "Picket Fence" collection. Tim Holtz dies used here totals to SIX dies! Clock, flower, film strip, houses, butterflies, man with umbrella. Thanks to Yellow Violet House for my new dies!

I love chips!

Yup, I love chips... I'm addicted to them - the ones you can eat (i.e. Lays, Pringles, etc.) and the ones you can not (i.e. DUSTY ATTIC CHIPBOARD!). In the interest on keeping this blog focused on the art of scrapbooking, I'll just blog about the ones you can't eat ok. :)

So here we go, I got some lovely hinges from Dusty Attic and I used it in this layout I made for Webster's Pages featuring the gorgeous "Ladies and Gents" Line.

Here's another layout with DA chips... papers from 7 Gypsies "Lille" and October Afternoon "Seaside". Die-cut shapes from The Girl's Paperie. The row of houses and the buttons are from Dusty Attic.

My Favorite Page

As a designer for manufacturers and stores, I would often have to adapt my style to match the products I am working with. I would have simple pages, pages with lots of flowers, pages with no flowers, embellished ones, not so embellished ones, shabby, bright and bold etc. But when I look at my work... this is still the kind of page that becomes a favorite of mine...

I think it's great to experiment with different styles every now and then but I also believe that as an artist (and we all are), we can be confident in staying true to our style. No need to keep on thinking of a new twist every time you make a page. It's all about just letting your creativity and style show through your work.

Linda Barber, our DT head at Lily Bee issued a fun challenge for us, to create a non-holiday themed layout using the "Christmas Town" papers! Love that one.. Just sharing what I was able to come up with using those papers mixed in with some 7 Gypsies products...
