Guest Detective at CSI...Color, Stories, and Inspiration...

It was certainly fun to play guest detective  at CSI...Color, Stories, and Inspiration...

The case files are so detailed. You can definitely find some inspiration there as well as lots of prompts to get you rushing off to your work area..

This is the first case I worked on:

And here is my take...I was able to include almost everything from the evidence list (except for the star and the chicken wire). It was so fun to just keep grabbing and adding stuff cause it was on the evidence list!

Skissedilla sketch #158 and Aussie Scrapsource WI

Hi everyone! We just came back from a short vacation in Baguio City where we celebrated Easter with the kids. We had such a great time and the minute we hit home, Nicole said she already missed The Manor (the hotel we stayed at) and the Easter Egg Hunt! So before I start with the scrappy stuff, here are my two girls saying hi to you all...

Here is the sketch challenge from Skissedilla where I am guest designing this month. Here is my take on sketch 158...

Used lots of torn strips of paper (great way to use up your scraps), gesso, Sizzix dies, Tattered Angels glam and glaze, and watercolor pencils.

Kits De Somni

I finally finished my projects for the guest designer stint at Kits de Somni and I'd like to share now the ambum that I was able to complete with their very generous kit...

Tomorrow I will post the three layouts I made from the same kit. So sorry for the almost no words, all pictures post. I'm just really really loaded with commitments now.

Little Yellow Bicycle Guest Designer...

I am very happy to announce that I am a guest designer at Little Yellow Bicycle for this month. I was sent the "Twig" collection to work on and although I am not used to working with blues and greens, I actually had fun doing this project and surprisingly... I loved the end result.

Do you have pictures that have distracting elements in the background? Using Frames are perfect way to hide those imperfections in your photos. Scrapbooking memories isn’t always about having the perfect design or the perfect photos. There is always a way for you to include your special photos (whether it be perfect or not) in your albums.  In this page, I used the Twig frames to eliminate the clutter in my photos.

 

The Twig line has so many beautiful embellishments that it is not hard at all to create a page with so many details in so little time. This page took me less than an hour to finish.

 The Twig line is perfect for both masculine and feminine layouts. This page needed little work because the bottom part of the patterned paper already provided a stunning visual element. I simply balanced the design at the bottom with the banner, added a couple of butterflies, some stickers, and it already looked great to me. The doily paper provided the perfect base for my photos.

 

 And a few more detail shots...

 

 

 

 Want to add some color to the Twig line? Simply mix and match it with other LYB lines like the “Cupcake Love” which I used here. Pretty hard to tell that they are separate lines huh? The Twig line provided the outdoor feel and look to my page, while the cupcake love line added the girly and whimsical look I wanted to achieve.

 Another page where I mixed Twig with the Cupcake Love line. My daughter was actually holding some sweets which she was snacking on. I was not able to fit her snack in my frame when I photographed her. So I placed the cupcake just where her hand would be to help tell the story.

Mon Scrapbook

Layers Of Color Stamps

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share a couple of layouts I made using Layers Of Color Stamps.

This is a layout I made for Anica. I used Jillibean papers with Fancy Pants Notebook sheets, K and Co embellishments, MM Tag, and a Prima Flower, together with stamps from Layers of Color.

The bouquet stamp here is from the Merci Bouquet Stamp Set.

This one features a picture of our family and I used some old but beautiful products like Pink Paislee die-cut sheet, 7 gypsies tag, BG papers, Maya Road chipboard, and Tim Holtz Stamps, plus the music themed stamps of LOC.

 

The stamped images with the G clef symbols are from the Joyful Noise Stamp Set.
